Cast in solid bronze (read: wonderfully heavy, reassuringly sturdy), this piece balances art and function with the confidence of a seasoned design classic. Its textured surface catches the light beautifully, and the warm gold-toned patina brings all the charm of decades well-lived.
A Hint of Harjes Magic
Though unsigned, the piece shows all the hallmarks of Michael Harjes (1926–2006) and the celebrated Harjes Metallkunst workshop, founded in 1912 in Germany. Their sculptural bronze designs often played with plant forms—abstracted, rhythmic, and full of movement—much like this branching beauty. While we can’t claim authorship with absolute certainty, the resemblance is unmistakable enough to make any mid-century enthusiast smile.
This candleholder is a striking centrepiece for the dining table, a poetic silhouette on the mantel, or the perfect “I never knew I needed this, but now I can’t live without it” gift. This is mid-century craftsmanship at its most lyrical.

All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use. We restore our pieces so they will be clean and in a good working condition. However we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
