Elegant French Louis XVI Style Giltwood Mirror, 19th Century
A refined 19th-century French Louis XVI style mirror with a rectangular giltwood frame, richly decorated with gesso with a geometric pattern and finished in gold leaf. The inner edge is adorned with classic pearl beading, adding a touch of neoclassical elegance.
Dating from around 1880, the mirror retains its original glass, which has developed a beautiful foxed patina over time. The frame is in solid, healthy condition and shows a warm, timeworn finish that adds to its charm.
Timeless in style yet surprisingly contemporary in look, this piece makes a striking decorative accent in both modern and traditional interiors. It can be displayed vertically or horizontally, depending on your space.
Note: The stripe visible in the glass is from the board used during photography—it is not part of the mirror glass!

Please keep in mind that in many cases we sell vintage and antique pieces. None of these pieces should be considered new or in perfect condition.
All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use. We restore our pieces so they will be clean and in a good working condition. However we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.

The physical object can differ slightly in colour from the object as presented online. We have made every effort to display colours accurately, but cannot guarantee that the pictures accurately reflect the colour of those goods in real life.
