Handmade Purple Bubble Glass Pitcher, Biot Style

Sale price€35,00

Purple Reign. In Glass.

There is something endlessly charming about hand-blown French glassware. Even the simple act of pouring water becomes a tiny theatrical performance — the kind that feels entirely at home on a linen-covered table somewhere in the French countryside.

This pitcher, or carafe, is handmade in the South of France, where artisans still shape molten glass with the kind of patience and skill that cannot be rushed. The style follows the Biot tradition — a village near Antibes where glassblowers revived an ancient craft in the 1950s, deliberately coaxing tiny air bubbles into the molten glass as the signature of the hand that made it. Those little bubbles are not imperfections. They are the whole point.

Wonderfully versatile, it is equally at home serving chilled wine, fresh juice, good olive oil, or a simple splash of water — and looks just as lovely holding a few wildly gathered garden flowers on a kitchen windowsill. The sort of object that drifts effortlessly between practical and decorative, without ever trying too hard.
