19th C Louis XVI Style Rectangular Mirror with Flower Corners
Discover this wonderful French gilt wood rectangular mirror from the 19th century with small flower ornaments on each corner.
The mirror has a wooden frame, decorated with gesso and gilded with gold leaf. The frame features elegant pearl beadings on the interior perimeter. The mirror dates from about 1880.
The glass is original from the time, which is why there are some (very) small weathered spots in the glass. The gold leaf gilding shows some slight red bole through the gilding, giving the gold color a warm touch. The frame is in a good healthy condition and has a beautiful warm antique patina.
This mirror is antique and looks very modern at the same time. It will make a fantastic decorative accent in any interior.
Note: The stripe visible in the glass is from the board used during photography—it is not part of the mirror glass!

All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use. We restore our pieces so they will be clean and in a good working condition. However we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.

The physical object can differ slightly in colour from the object as presented online. We have made every effort to display colours accurately, but cannot guarantee that the pictures accurately reflect the colour of those goods in real life.
