Archivist Gallery Staffordshire Dog Luxury Matchbox

Sale price€11,80

We’ve long been smitten with the gloriously oversized matchboxes and luxurious matches from the ever-delightful Archivist Gallery. These are no ordinary flick-and-go numbers; they’re candle-lighting royalty. Long enough to spark an entire row of flickering flames without singeing your fingertips, they make the act of lighting candles feel like a mini soirée in itself.

This Staffordshire Dog Figure square matchbox is again a joyful collaboration between Archivist Gallery and the ever-colourful Charlotte Farmer, an artist who shares our deep love and appreciation for vintage ephemera. Her new Staffordshire Figure-inspired matchbox combines her love of dogs and vintage memorabilia. While Staffordshire figurines were traditionally found on mantelpieces, this charming Staffordshire matchbox brings that same sense of nostalgia to your home, sitting on your mantelpiece as a delightful tribute to both vintage style and canine companions.

Archivist Gallery
Founded in 1994 by Sarah and William Allardice, Archivist Gallery began by unearthing exquisite imagery from the archives of the Natural History Museum. Since then, they’ve wooed the world with collaborations from global artists and archives, transforming everyday objects—cards, prints, and of course, their famous matches—into little works of joy.

Practical note: these long matches are absolute saviours for scented candles in deep jars, letting you reach that elusive wick with ease.

And because beauty should never come at a toxic price, these matches are refreshingly free from nasties like sulphur or zinc oxide. In short? Gorgeous, generous, and guilt-free.
