Archivist Gallery Black Miracle Luxury Matchbox

Sale price€11,80

We’ve been longtime admirers of Archivist Gallery’s matchboxes and matches. Generously oversized, they’re the kind of matches that let you set an entire symphony of candles aglow in one elegant sweep. Think less “strike and go,” more lighting ritual with panache.

This particular design is a firecracker of charm: inspired by Mexican folk art and dreamed up by Louise Lockhart of The Printed Peanut. Using nothing more than tomato purée cans and scissors (yes, really), she’s conjured a lively, joyful pattern. Finished with gleaming metallic accents for a touch of sophistication, it’s both playful and chic—a little objet d’art in its own right. Perfect as a gift (for others, or yourself), and available in a ravishing red variation too.

Archivist Gallery
Founded in 1994 by Sarah and William Allardice, Archivist Gallery first made its name by reviving historic prints from the archives of the Natural History Museum. Since then, they’ve gone delightfully rogue—collaborating with artists and archives across the globe to create witty, wonderful cards, stationery, and of course, their now-iconic luxury matches.

Tip: These matches are very handy for scented candles, especially if you need to reach all the way to the bottom of the glass jar to light the wick!

The matches are non-toxic. Unlike other matches, Archivist Gallery matches do not contain harmful toxins such as sulfur or zinc oxide.
