Small antique French mirrors are a bit like truffles in the wild—you know they exist, but goodness, they don’t make themselves easy to find. Louis Philippe mirrors, especially, tend to favour grander proportions (all those 19th-century fireplaces to preside over…). So when a petite model crosses our path, we do a happy little dance.
Perfectly scaled for those tricky corners that crave light—think powder room, hallway nook, dressing spot, or the bedroom that just needs “a little something”—this dainty treasure brings all the elegance of the Louis Philippe style in a delightfully compact size.
The frame still wears its original warm gilt like a favourite old jacket: slightly worn, softly glowing, and rich with patina. The rounded top corners, so typical of the period, give it that effortless, timeless silhouette that works in both classic and contemporary interiors.
Its original foxed mirror plate adds just the right dose of antique romance (yes, the good kind of foxing), and the wooden backboard is wonderfully intact. The glass is in excellent condition with decorative ageing, and the frame shows only the gentle wear you’d expect from a 19th-century beauty.

Please keep in mind that in many cases we sell vintage and antique pieces. None of these pieces should be considered new or in perfect condition.
All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use. We restore our pieces so they will be clean and in a good working condition. However we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
