Marcel L.A. Cockx (Herent, December 11, 1930 – Leuven, November 6, 2007) was a Flemish neo-expressionist visual artist. His work includes paintings, drawings and pastels. Cockx trained at the Academy of Leuven with Jan Cobbaert. Subsequently he was a teacher there from 1956 to 1985. His work was initially characterized as dark expressionist and was influenced by the work of Constant Permeke. Later this evolved into a bright color expressionism. Cockx’s work has been shown both individually and in group exhibitions. This work was part of the Prix de Rome exhibition.
