Vintage Omersa Leather Duck Doorstop

Sale price€580,00

A wonderful example of the leather duck doorstop (or paper weight) by Dimitri Omersa for Abercrombie and Fitch, circa 1950s.

This is a collectible early production example and ready to be used as a floor door stop or consider using it as a tabletop sculpture or paperweight.

Omersa designed leather animals for Omersa Leatherworks of England, Omersa & Company, Liberty's of London and Abercrombie and Fitch. Omersa made his first leather animal, a pig, in 1927 and from there created a full suite of interesting and charismatic creatures. Each leather animal is of the highest quality, beautifully stained and waxed. This animal sculpture would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Postmodern room.

Condition: Good vintage condition with light wear and moderate patina throughout. Some spots on the leather. Desirable and attractive early production example. Ready to be used immediately.
