Vase by Toni Zuccheri for VeArt, 1970s
Part of an avant-garde collection, Toni Zuccheri crafted this vase in various colors and shapes, showcasing his innovative designs. The vase is in perfect condition, a testament to its enduring beauty.
Toni Zuccheri, an Italian designer specializing in lighting, made significant contributions during the 1970s. His diverse creations, spanning from ceiling lamps to table lamps and vases, highlight his mastery of glass as the primary medium.
Born in 1936 to the renowned painter Luigi Zuccheri, Toni's artistic journey began at the Academy of Architecture in Venice, where he learned from influential figures like Ignazio Gardella, Franco Albini, and Carlo Scarpa. In 1961, he joined Venini, collaborating with Gio Ponti and spearheading groundbreaking glass experiments. Zuccheri pioneered the combination of pasty glass with raw materials such as copper, mineral pigments, murrines, and bronze.
His creations, rare and challenging to produce, held a prestigious place in Venini's collection, proudly exhibited at international showcases and the Venini showroom in St. Mark’s Square, Venice. Blurring the line between decorative and fine arts, Toni Zuccheri's legacy extends beyond Venini, encompassing collaborations with other esteemed houses like Barovier & Toso, De Majo, and Veart.
