Large Antique Hymnal or Song Book titled Antiphonaire, Antiphonarium Romanum. Latin Gregorian Hymns of Psalms, dated 1862.

The Antiphonary is a Catholic liturgical book grouping together the scores of the offices devoted to prayer called Canonical Hours. Its name is derived from “antiphon” which is a song performed alternately by two choirs and present in the antiphonary.

Beautiful large antique leather and iron covered song book of Gregorian chants sung at Mass. The book contains very large paper pages of printed Latin songs and sheet music.

Materials: Paper. leather, brass

Condition: Wear consistent with age and use. Good Antique Condition. Pages intact. Some discoloration, spots or foxing to pages and some crumpled pages. In general a good condition.
