F.A.Q.
The prices on our website include packing & crating, shipping and transport to your home and insurance. Excl. are import duties to the US.
For antiques over 100 years old there are NO import duties. We will provide an antiques statement with all the necessary paperworks for customs, so it will be clear immediately that the item that will be imported into the United States is an antique! On vintage items import duties do apply.
After you have placed your order we will contact you about transportation matters. Our fragile items are always shipped with shipping partners that are specialized in arts and antiques. We will securely coordinate your transport and guide you through everything.
Antiques and especially mirrors are of course very fragile objects. We have transported many antiques over the world. We pack all our items extremely well. When they are ready, they will be collected by one of our transport partners. The transport company will pack the items for a second time, for instance using wooden crates and making sure the items are totally prepared for their long journey. All our transport partners have a lot of experience with transporting fragile objects internationally.
Shipping times can vary. They depend very much on the sizes and the weight of an item. Most items, like mirrors, will travel via air freight. Arrival time is about 2-3 weeks from the moment you ordered.
Bulky items usually arrive 3-5 weeks after your order. Made-to-order and customized pieces may take longer than 6 weeks to deliver.
When you are in a hurry and items need to arrive really soon, just contact us so we can see what is possible via info@wildschut-antiques.com
An obstacle with transport from Europe to the US can be customs. Nothing to be worried about, because all the paperwork will already be done by us.
As there are no import duties for antiques older than 100 years, the process mostly goes smoothly and you will not need to do anything. However, when import duties are the case, it is possible that you, as the receiver, will need to contact the office or the local transport agent to arrange the delivery to your home and - if necessary - pay the import duties.
Customs will only hold your item for a couple of days. Of course we will keep you up to date when your item will arrive and you need to do something. We will guide you through everything. In general it is all easy to arrange.
Before your order leaves Europe for the journey overseas to the United States pictures will be taken of the item and the packaging. Might there be any damage then it will be clear that this has happened during transport and the insurance will take care of it.
Please inspect your purchase as soon as it arrives. Damage claims on shipped items must be made within 48 hours of package arrival. No claims can be made after 48 hours. If for some reason there is damage or defects to your item, caused by shipping, please notify us immediately. What to do?
- keep the packaging
- send us pictures of both the packaging and the damage
We will contact the transport company and they will contact the insurance company.
Just to say, we have exported many antiques and many mirrors these last years to New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and many other cities in the States. They all arrived safe and sound! We can say that we definitely trust our transport companies. We love our mirrors and take lots of care for their restorations. We would never send them away if this was not a safe way of transport.
We will make sure that all our items are provided with their measurements on our website. Most of our armoires and venetian chandeliers can be dismantled and as such will fit through all doorways, hallways & elevators. When in doubt, please contact us prior to your order! When furniture items need to be assembled on location, we will send a manual with them to guide you. In case of an assembling-urgency you can also zoom/facetime with us! (Or let your handyman do this )
We are based in the Netherlands and with our antiques we fall into the Dutch margin-scheme-tax. For you as a customer this means that the price on the invoice is what it is. There is no Dutch VAT included, as we sell mostly antique, vintage and second hand products.
Exclusively for our interior design partners, we are happy to put an item on hold for you.
Please contact us and indicate which items are of your interest. Shipping items together, mostly gives better shipping prices. We will look into that for you and will send you a quote for all items and the shipping together. Submit a request to info@wildschut-antiques.com
Before placing the order, please make sure that you have a clear view on what you are buying. If you have any doubts about the item, feel free to ask us for more pictures or information. Please read more about our return policy here. Please note that some items are sold “as is” and they cannot be returned.
Don’t hesitate to contact us, if you have questions about shipping matters. We are always happy to help transport your antiques safely to your home and find the best solution.

In general please note:
Photography
All of our articles are provided with an adequate description and photographs to enable you to have good judgment regarding the articles. The photographs serve as an example. The physical object can differ slightly in color from the object as presented online. We have made every effort to display colors accurately, but cannot guarantee that the pictures accurately reflect the color of those goods in real life.
Vintage and Antiques
Please keep in mind that we only sell vintage and antique pieces and none of our pieces should be considered new or in perfect condition. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use. We restore our pieces so they will be clean and in a good working condition. However we try to minimize restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
First served
We update our website as often as possible, however all articles are sold on a first come, first served basis and it is possible for something to be sold and not indicated as so.
Customs and import duties
If there are import duties, customers are responsible for all duty fees. These are in addition to, and not included in our prices. As a business we are obligated to declare all items as merchandise. We are not able to mark items as “gift”.
