Arena Painting Antoine Pentsch
Modern painting in earth tones, whites and blues. The painting shows an arena and is painted by Antoine Pentsch (1925-2012), made in 1957.
This is an early work by Pentsch, who made his painting debut in 1947. He would known for his monotypes with which he produced single-print works. However, in this early work his love for mineral material colours and dreamlike landscapes is already present. Oil on canvas.
Pentsch has been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions (Japan, New York, Staunton, Lexington, Chicago, Basel, Paris, Montreal, Calcutta) and became a Recipient of the Prix Gaspard Ecuador in 1994. His works is part of several collections such as the Toronto Dominion Bank, Quebec National Library and Archives, IBM and Loto-Québec.
